Registration Subsidy Policy

Port Perry Minor Softball has always had an unwritten policy that no child would be prevented from participating in softball due to financial inability to pay. In preparation for these economic times, the Association has determined a need for a written policy. 
Registration subsidy is available for individuals and families who are unable to pay the full registration fee. In order to be considered for subsidy, individuals must first apply for a financial grant from the Canadian Tire Jump Start Program. Applications for the Jump Start program can be obtained by contacting the Jump Start Administrator, Brenda Robinson, at the Township of Scugog, Parks and Recreation Dept. A financial needs test will be conducted and applicants must provide a letter from a community leader indicating their relationship to the applicant and verification of the applicant’s economic barrier to participation. Applicants will also need someone to endorse their Jump Start application.

Port Perry Minor Softball will supplement the Jump Start grant once the Jump Start Administrator confirms a need for subsidy. 
Applicants for subsidy are subject to all registration deadlines. If subsidy is denied and need is not confirmed, all fees must be paid in full in order for the player to continue to participate.
